Question about Kobo Clara HD

My old Kobo (black, bought from you in 2015!) went through some kind of maintenance today. Afterwards, no more books were visible (285 epub, some PDFs). www.kobo.com software didn't help either. You can only access the Kobo store. If I buy the new device above, do I really have the possibility to reinstall the old books via USB? Merci for any help
