Hello, I don't know the Pionner HM86D but it is probably capable of reading files via simple file shares (without a Plex server). That said, you should know that Plex is working on a server version compatible with the DS118 (processor with ARMv8 architecture). Being myself the owner of a DS118 I have already been able to test the alpha version (it works at home !). A beta version seems to be available now => https://forums.plex.tv/t/much-faster-hopefully-smaller-mostly-and-better-pms-builds-preview-1-15-0-573-123756e9a/308294.

Hello, this NAS is not compatible with Plex. I tried to install it, but it was impossible. But there are Synology programs for music. I don't use it for multimedia, only for backup.
