Is the mainboard directly 5th generation Ryzen capable? Or does the BIOS have to be updated first?

I still had to do the update in December. Simply copy it to a USB stick. CPU may be installed beforehand.

You probably have to do a BIOS update first. If you are lucky, it will already be delivered with a new version. But since you can do the BIOS update without the CPU installed, this shouldn't be a problem.
