I would like to use this dock with a Dell UltraSharp U2720Q monitor (4K) and a retina MacBook (USB-C, no Thunderbolt), is there any limitation ?

I don't use this adapter because it doesn't suit me. It doesn't have enough power for my 3 hard drives and I needed USB A ports more. My monitor is a Mac with Thunderbolt 2.
