The hard reset with key combination
Switch off the device. Now press and hold the power button, the volume up button and the home button simultaneously until a menu appears. Now navigate to "wipe data/factory reset" with the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons and select the item with the Power button.

Hello I have the same problem. Did it work? If so, what did you do? I've tried holding the power button longer but it won't even turn off.
And yes, it came fresh out of the box... funny.

No, it certainly doesn't take that long. The tablet setup questions pop up relatively quickly. I'm not a tablet specialist, but I would switch off again (press the smaller button longer) and switch on again. I don't have any better advice.
