These problems affect Samsung 990 Pro SSDs with 1TB and also 2TB. It remains to be seen how Samsung intends to address the problems reported by users. Usually, new firmware versions are developed when such problems occur, but these firmware versions are rarely able to repair damage that has already occurred. Therefore, it remains to be considered whether it would be better to return the product.
As an alternative, I would recommend the Seagate FireCuda 530 1TB SSD, which not only also has the fastest transfer rates, but this SSD also offers a total bytes written rate of 2550 terabytes, which is pretty much unique, which is why this is currently the best SSD available. No other SSD has such a high total bytes written rate. A 1TB Samsung 990 Pro has a meagre TBW of 600 TB, so I wouldn't spend money on it, it's not worth it in the long term.
