I have an Asus ROG Hero VIII WiFi and the SSD does not work for me. The board has an error display and I get the 06 code (microcode loading) every time. After a quick internet search, it turns out that either the hardware is broken or incompatible, but I don't see what's wrong here. The slots actually all have the correct specifications. Does anyone have any idea why this is not working?
Does the screen stay black? I had strange error messages with a black screen after BIOS updates (or CMOS reset). The reason was not that something was defective or incompatible, but that the screen seemed to have "hung up". It helped to switch the power supply of the monitor off and on again (switching on and off at the switch did not work anymore, the monitor did not react to anything).
The problem has occurred several times and the error codes have also varied, but it was usually a boot device error. With this code, my board stops when I am asked to go into the BIOS with F1 because the CPU fan was not detected (I have a custom cooling system). If a new CPU is installed, the board hangs with a different error code, I think it was 06, also with a black screen. The board actually hangs when I press F1 and there is no problem, the BIOS was just not configured correctly.
I have a Rampage VI Extreme Omega with a Samsung C34F791 and an RX 6900 XT, by the way, the problem also occurs with a Vega 64 and a 980 Ti.
The SSD does not work on my board either (Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro). According to Gigabyte support, the SSD should work. It is not displayed in the bios. I assume that the controller chip is defective.
With my Asus rog crosshair viii formula. The SSDs work without any problems for me.
I would update the bios. You can find the drivers from Asus at
https://rog.asus.com/ch-en... you can find the drivers from Asus. Version 3204 should be the latest.
We are not ready yet, we had to order additional built-in parts. Maybe I will know more when they are installed Sorry
