Hi, the title says 85W and the box in the pictures say 135W. Does it mean the input is 135W and the output is 85W? The original power adapter of my laptop is 65W (Lenovo thinkpad T490s). Would 85W output from this adapter cause any trouble? Thanks.

Helpful answer

Yes, the power supply of the docking station consumes at most 135W, while the station itself is capable of charging a laptop with up to 85W of power through USB.

With power supplies, it's the receiver (your laptop) that decides how much power to pull. That means you are fine as long as the maximum allowed power of the supply (85W in this case) is greater than the maximum amount your laptop can consume (which in this case would be less than 65W). In short, it won't cause any trouble.

Hi I am using it with a dell latitude (65W) and Mac book (65W) it works great with both, answer is no you won’t have any power issue.
In general I would avoid to use the USB ports to power other devices, this applies to any docking station.
