for the Samsung SSD 870 QVO SATA III 2.5 inch your laptop needs a SATA interface as well as a free mounting slot in the form factor 2.5 inch.
This should be available on your Macbook.

This works instead of the system disk. First clone the system to an external disk, then rebuild the SSD or copy it back. Watch the corresponding Youtubes for the installation...
