Question about Sony WF-1000XM5
Hello all I own the WF-1000XM5 and wore it for the first time today. I am very disappointed. In my opinion, the ANC does not work. When I turn on the noise reduction in the Sony Headphones Connect app it is practically the same "loud" as when it is completely off! That can't be right. I have also tried the other attachments, still loud. I used to have the WF-1000XM4 and the ANC was much better, you couldn't hear anything if someone was talking next to you. What do you think, is the ANC defective? Should I send them back? Thank you very much.
It works perfectly for me - and definitely better than the XM4 or XM3 I tried.

there is a difference but if there are no loud sounds you won't notice a difference but if you set it up in the app it's like a pamir tip set it to off without music and nois canncling without music you will notice the difference

I've had exactly the same problem with my linkbuds S since they came back from repair.
The ANC works well on the right one, but it seems to be virtually non-existent on the left one, which is unpleasant to use.

we are sorry to hear this. Make sure that the headset sits in your ears as specified. Wear the headset so that the earbud tips sit comfortably as low as possible in the ear canal.
You can use the "Sony | Headphones Connect" app to determine which earbud tips are best suited to you for optimal noise cancellation, sound quality, etc.
The function that determines the optimal earbud tips for you measures the airtightness of the earbud tips and then determines whether the headset units are worn correctly in the ear. Choose a size that fits comfortably.
Please note that noise cancellation is particularly effective at low frequencies such as on planes, trains, offices and near air conditioning. It is less effective at higher frequencies such as human voices.
To get the most out of the noise cancelling function, switch off the adaptive noise control and try to switch on the noise cancelling function manually if necessary.

Hello, I am also totally dissatisfied with the ANC of these expensive Sony headphones. There is simply no difference between the OFF mode and the NOISE REDUCTION mode. Sertronics and Sony deny everything - really bad!

Hello, I agree. The worst ANC I have ever (not) experienced. It is de facto non-existent. And it gets even worse: if you leave the supposed ANC on a low setting, it even cancels out the damping effect of the silicone plugs. The headphones are not even able to filter out monotonous noise, e.g. on an aeroplane.
