Does the LED on the headphones light up during use? or can you turn this off/on? I would find that rather disturbing in the dark...

The LEDs on both the charging station (housing) and the headphones do not light up during normal operation. The LED on the housing lights up only when charging and on the headphones when they establish the Bluetooth connection.
