Does anyone have experience whether this thing can be used as an electronic "sheet of music" (keyboard, piano)? Swiping from page to page should work quite smoothly. I usually have the sheet music on PDF. Are there any other devices that could be recommended? Thank you very much!
Not really, but as long as you don't have to turn in a presto, it should work. Maybe you can also adjust that. When turning the pages of a newspaper, it goes relatively smoothly. If you know the composition of the first few bars on the next page, it should be enough. Anyway, Books is also recommended for orchestras as a sheet music substitute.
Switching is really very fast, and I have also treated myself to a Bluetooth foot switch for this purpose. What bothers me when using it as a paper note replacement is the non-white background and the associated loss of contrast. No problem in good light, but as soon as it gets a bit dim, you're definitely better off with a white sheet of paper.
Turning pages in PDF mode when reading a newspaper is estimated to take less than 0.5 sec. By the way, I am very satisfied with the display of PDF documents.
