Can I connect the HUB to the iMac with a USB cable? If not, is there a HUB with a card reader and 2-4 USB3.0 ports with a connection cable?

Yes, you can, you just need two cables: Female USB-C to Female USB-A and another ordinary USB-A to USB-A cable. The first one goes to the HUB, the second one connects the first cable (and thus the HUB) to your iMac. Just search for "Female USB-C to Female USB-A" on Google Images, the first image is the cable.
