Can I connect it to a Thunderbolt 2 or USB-B? Are there adapters for it or can it only be connected to a USB-C or Thunderbolt 3?

with an adapter is good, but only if you plan to buy a computer with Thunderbolt 3. I work with a Macbook Pro (2017) and this HD. Thunderbolt 3 is so fast that I can edit 4K film projects with the external HD (FCPX) - really recommendable. The integrated card reader is the dot on the i - you understand :-)
