Can a monitor with DVi input be connected to a VGA output (of the GraKa)? According to some negative reviews this should not work. Scheme: Monitor-DVI->DVI cable-> DVi (adapter)-VGA <-VGA cable<-VGA output Graka

Helpful answer

This only works if the monitor can handle the analogue input.
This is not an active adapter.

You do not need an extra VGA cable. You can connect the adapter directly to the graphics card. I did this the other way round at the time. GPU > DVI output > DVI/VGA adapter > VGA cable > VGA input monitor

With your constellation you transfer an analogue signal into a digital signal, which the monitor has to convert back into an analogue signal. Why? Because the source is the VGA output (which is analogue).
This should normally work.
