The official price is the same as for the Pi 2, $35. So since both have about the same storage and transport costs, the CHF price should also be comparable. But the Pi 2 is 46.60 and the 3 is 59.00, which is almost double the official price. Swiss bonus?

They also have storage costs and staff in the USA. The surcharge is already generous.

Impressive... Nobody is banned from ordering online in either US or UK and pay import (if applicable). Nobody is forced to shop in Digitec or elsewhere in CH. So if it is too expensive, shop somewhere else or start an import yourselves.

Digitec doesn't have to get it from the USA, but from the UK, where it is also produced, and they also have storage facilities in the USA.

The market plays a role here. The Pi 3 is brand new, which is why it is more expensive than the Pi 2. It costs even more at Brack, Conrad or Microspot :(

sorry all justifications about the price on the raspberry pi is full of crap: it's an EDUCATIONAL tool, if digitec want to make money: sell commercial tools. But it seems they have to win on all fronts and cannot accept to make no money from this article.

The surcharge is exaggerated. Even in Germany, the Pi3 costs only 39.50 euros (incl. 20% VAT). As en Welscher has already noted with the PIzero, these are probably more Migros (M-Elektronic) prices. CHF=USD and 35*1.5*1.08= CHF 56.70, so with a 50% margin there are still 4 francs of storage costs per Pi...

Does the Enocean Pi module fit on this kit?

CHF 49 is a good price for delivery from stock. It is possible for less money, but with 6 months delivery time (RS Components) and/or higher delivery costs. The higher price can also come from higher margin requirements. Normally nothing runs below 40% DB2.

Given the price/performance ratio, I'd rather buy a PINE64. It's better and cheaper.

If you buy a few of them, the delivery costs are almost negligible.

Officially CHF 39.90 in the Berry Shop, thanks digitec for the attempted deception......
You can keep it!

Well, customs alone is 24.95 CHF. Therefore the price is ok....

It costs 35 dollars in the USA. You still have to add transport, customs, storage costs, personnel, etc.. So it is clear that it is more expensive here.
