Movable lighting, picture and sound equipment must be secured against falling by two independently acting devices. When an object falls into the safety element, there is an impulse load for the rope. This impulse force is partly absorbed by the rope elongation. When securing on movable lamp hangers, the safety ropes must be attached in such a way that the height of fall of 5 cm is not exceeded, so that the impulse forces on the lamp hanger do not become too great when a load falls. A safety element which has once been loaded or apparently damaged must not be used again. The safety rope must not be used as a connection rope for general hoisting operations.
