Apple AirPods Pro (1st Gen.)
ANC, Wireless
The AirPods Pro are my first in-ears from Apple. I need such headphones primarily for sports (jogging, fitness).
What can I say? Simply WOW. The AirPods Pro are really great. Not only do they look great, they are also the perfect size and fit. With the previous in-ears, I often had the problem that they didn't hold well or the attachments got stuck in the ear after use during sports (try fishing the verd**** silicone tips out of the ear canal with sweaty hands). The previous in-ears were connected with a cable (behind the neck), which hindered freedom of movement when sweating because the cable stuck to the neck.
This is not the case with the AirPods Pro. You hardly notice that you have headphones in your ear. The ANC is fantastic and can be set to three levels. However, I personally don't find it pleasant not to be able to perceive the outside world. If you like that, you will love Apple's ANC.
I use an old iPhone 4S for jogging - it's the perfect size to wear in an armband. Since it only runs iOS 9.x, only the "normal" Bluetooth functions are available. For fitness, I (still) use an Android smartphone, which also only has normal Bluetooth functions. Bluetooth functions. With the iPad, however, I was able to test all functions and settings. Apple did a great job. The test with which you can check whether the silicone tips have the ideal size is very cool.
The sound is really impressive. I can't judge how the AirPods Pro compare with current competitors. But I don't have to, because I like the sound, bass and treble very much - it suits me.
Another thing about water splash resistance: I used the AirPods Pro for the first time on a day when it was raining cats and dogs. I was soaking wet within seconds and jogged for a good hour. The AirPods also got wet, but passed the "endurance test" without any problems.
My pers. Conclusion: A clear recommendation to buy.
