Expectations unfortunately not met...
...basically, the 5 star ratings are legitimate if you are Sonos fanatics and do not look outside the box. But I am unfortunately on the Sonos advertising with the "full" Google Assistant integration fell, which is not really there.
Google Assistant works flawlessly, but you can't integrate these things into Chromecast groups, which makes it useless for proper Google Home. Too bad, Sonos and Google complaining to each other is probably more important than the benefit to customers.
Pro
- Great HW quality
- Super sound, there is absolutely nothing to complain about
- Is one willing to live only in the Sonos universe, absolutely top
Contra
- Google Assistant not installable if a Sonos Gen2 is already configured in the same room.
- No integration in Google Chromecast groups (NoGo !!)
- Android App is a copy of the iOS App and not adapted to the Google Design specifications.
- The 50cm power cable costs CHF 30, is it still ??
- Alternative power cables that would fit there is no, cleverly done Sonos....
- No 5.0 Ghz WLAN, unless you buy Sonos special accessories
Heyy quick question, I use everything from Google (Google Nest Hub, Nest mini etc.) as "smart home control". My Philipps Hue lamps also all run via the Google home app. Now I wanted to get an extension for my Nest Hub Gen.2 for my room, as the sound is not really good (I often stream Spotify from my phone/tablet directly to the Nest Hub). I was thinking of getting the Sonos One to go with it and play music or something through the Sonos whenever audio is playing through the Nest Hub.
Is that possible? You seem to know a little better than me xD
(I saw that you could create a speaker group via the Google Home app).
Or are there better alternatives to this that you might know of? (I am an Android user)

Just updated my Sonos One Gen2 to the latest version. Short answer. No, still can't do what you want to do with it. The Sonos still don't integrate with Chromecast (Google Cast) groups, which would be the basis for it.
With speakers that support Google Cast, you can create speaker groups with the Google Home app. You can then integrate the Google Cast speakers into these groups. If you then listen to music via Spotify, for example, you can simply select the corresponding group in Spotify (or individual Google Cast speakers) and the music plays on all speakers synchronously.
With the Sonos, you can only listen to music directly via the Sonos app, which is not what you want. In general, as an Android user, stay away from Sonos. Like Apple, they are in their own bubble. Google is basically in its own bubble too, but Chromecast and Google Cast are open to all manufacturers.
Conclusion:
You can integrate all speakers that support Google Cast into Google.

I'm currently still toying with the Sony SRS-RA3000 / Sony SRS-RA5000.
And always google the speakers, not all versions have Google Cast.

I actually still find it quite interestingQuality and sound are absolutely top with the B&O. B&O is even a bit better for me, incredible bass if you want it. The advantage of B&O is that it doesn't have Google Assistant, so it's a device that doesn't listen, but still has Google Cast integrated.
