Hot-swappable with maximum flexibility. The independent transceiver design offers the highest flexibility for network maintenance. Transceivers can be freely added as needed, and infrastructure upgrades or transceiver repairs can be easily performed by replacing only the transceiver instead of the entire device.

No additional cabling costs for upgrading the fiber optic infrastructure. Traditional fiber optic networks require two fiber strands to send and receive signals to enable communication. The bidirectional, dual-wavelength transceivers can establish communication over just one fiber strand. The transmission capacity can be immediately expanded without incurring additional costs for laying new fiber.

Supports Digital Diagnostic Monitoring Interface (DDMI). DDMI allows the switch to access operational parameters within the fiber connection. This includes digital features such as gentle control and monitoring of the SFP I/O signals. Additionally, DDMI functionality enables the implementation of digital alarms and alerts.
