With the Zebra ZD421, you acquire a fast and user-friendly thermal transfer printer. Its movable media sensor allows for the use of a wide variety of media types, including media with offset registration marks, die-cut openings, or horizontally arranged labels. Through a cloud-based solution, you can centrally monitor and manage all your ZD421 printers. This printer uses the thermal transfer method, where the color is melted from a separate ribbon onto the label paper and permanently bonds to the medium through heat. This produces durable, resilient printed materials. The use of additional consumables makes handling slightly more complex compared to direct thermal printers, and it generates more waste. However, you have more freedom in designing your labels due to the ability to use different ribbons. This printing method is recommended for applications where durability is more important than cost—such as long-term labeling like product or food labeling, as well as equipment and quality control labels.
