The all-purpose Zebra DS2208 barcode scanner reads 1D and 2D barcodes in seconds – from classic paper and plastic labels as well as from a smartphone display. It captures customer cards, promotional codes, vouchers, and much more directly from the customer's smartphone for easy billing – ideal for use in retail and hospitality, even during peak times. In handheld and presentation mode, the DS2208 automatically recognizes the barcode by simply inserting or removing it from the presentation stand. The multifunctional area imager is ready to use straight out of the box thanks to comprehensive pre-configuration – just unpack and get started. The DS2208 automatically detects the connection cable (available as USB, RS232, KBW, or IBM) via auto-host-detect upon connection, requiring no further settings. With Zebra's free remote software SMS (Scanner Management Service), you can manage and configure the DS2208 and many other models worldwide from your PC, smartphone, or tablet. The transition from 1D to 2D is facilitated by full backward compatibility with all existing connection cables of the widely used Zebra LS2208.
