A conductor is a flexible wire made up of many thin individual strands, making it easy to bend. Additionally, it offers high tensile strength. The cable is equipped with strain relief. Unlike conventional PVC cables, these cables are halogen-free: the dangerous release of halogen-containing combustion gases is therefore excluded. Another advantage is that the exposure to toxic gases, such as hydrogen chloride gas found in PVC, is minimized. Halogen-free cables are also flame-retardant and do not exhibit the dangerous "fuse effect." Furthermore, halogen-free cables produce minimal smoke in the event of a fire.
