Product details
Hard drives with medium capacity
The Ultrastar DC HC300 series delivers cost-effective hard drives with low to medium capacity, ensuring fast and reliable data access for conventional data center applications.
Cost efficiency and access speed: Critical requirements for low-capacity HDDs in the data center
While the industry develops new purpose-built solutions for growing storage demands, IT managers continue to rely on low-capacity hard drives that are more cost-effective yet still provide the necessary performance and reliability for conventional data center applications. The Ultrastar DC HC320 is designed for workloads of up to 550 TB per year. It offers 8 TB and meets the requirements of many conventional IT workloads in terms of cost efficiency and access. Low-capacity hard drives also ease architectural constraints. It is part of the DC HC300 series with medium capacity and is suitable for conventional storage and server applications as well as decentralized and scalable computing applications, including block and file storage architectures. With fast 7,200 RPM, the Ultrastar DC HC320 delivers high performance at low cost – ideal for companies with strict budget requirements. The Ultrastar DC HC320 is available with a SATA (6 Gbit/s) or SAS interface (12 Gbit/s) in 512e format.
Technological innovation boosts the efficiency and performance of conventional IT systems
The Ultrastar DC HC320 is based on a proven 5-platter platform with CMR technology (Conventional Magnetic Recording), air bearing, and a 3.5-inch form factor. Compared to the previous generation, the Ultrastar 7K6000, the DC HC320 delivers 33% more capacity and up to 12% more performance.
