WD Ultrastar DC HA210

The Ultrastar DC HA210, formerly known as Ultrastar 7K2, is a member of the HA200 series and offers fast data access in capacity-optimized enterprise-class storage solutions. The enhanced RAFF technology of the DC HA210 includes sophisticated electronics that monitor the drive and correct linear and rotational vibrations in real-time, which is particularly beneficial in multi-drive arrays and rack-mounted systems with high read/write performance. The Ultrastar DC HA210 is designed for workloads of up to 550 TB per year and provides cost-effective storage for high-intensity enterprise applications.

The Ultrastar DC HA210 features a SATA 6Gb/s interface and a native sector size of 512 bytes (512n) to ensure consistently high performance and compatibility with older data center applications. The dual-stage actuator provides a head positioning system that improves positional accuracy across the data tracks, enabling more reliable writing and reading of data to and from the drive.

Multi-axis shock sensors automatically detect even the smallest shock events and compensate for them to protect the stored data on the hard drive. The Ramp Load/Unload technology keeps the write/read heads off the platters during idle time and when shutting down, significantly reducing wear on the write/read heads and media while providing better protection for the drives during transport. The use of dynamic fly-height technology adjusts the height of each write/read head in real-time to ensure optimal reliability and performance.

This drive features a built-in, cryptographically secure pseudo-random number generator. When using Secure Erase, the drive overwrites the entire surface of the hard drive, including areas not accessible to users.
