The Ultrastar Data102 storage platform is a central element of the next generation of disaggregated storage and software-defined storage systems. The Ultrastar Data102 offers up to 2.2 PB of raw storage in 4U using 22 TB CMR HDDs in a compact and efficient form factor. It meets the demanding storage requirements of large enterprise customers, storage OEMs, cloud service providers, as well as resellers and integrators who need dense, shared HDDs.

The IsoVibe vibration isolation technology features precise cuts in the base plate that provide a suspension for the drives within the chassis, isolating them from transmitted vibrations. The result is that consistent performance is maintained, even when all drives are heavily utilized.

The ArcticFlow Thermal Zone cooling technology introduces cool air into the center of the chassis, allowing the drives to operate at lower and more uniform temperatures than conventional systems. This leads to lower fan speeds, reduced vibrations, lower power consumption, quieter operation, and ultimately higher reliability.

The Western Digital Resource Manager is a GUI-based tool that enables real-time monitoring and management of the platform, displaying a consolidated dashboard with key information. Additional views allow for platform configuration, health monitoring, and maintenance.
