Product details

The My Passport SSD is a portable storage device for lightning-fast data transfers. With password protection and hardware encryption, your content is always secure. The compact, shock-resistant, and user-friendly storage solution also impresses with its cool, robust design.

The My Passport SSD offers read speeds of up to 540 MB/s via USB Type-C, making it the fastest My Passport to date. Its speed is ideal for running high-performance virtual machines on your computer. As data volumes grow, the My Passport SSD is the perfect extension of limited internal storage. You can set up a password in the WD Security software to protect your content with the built-in 256-bit AES hardware encryption. Designed for both Mac and PC, the My Passport SSD is compatible with traditional USB Type-A ports as well as the new USB Type-C connections. Thanks to USB Type-C, read speeds of up to 540 MB/s are possible. The SSD is also USB 3.1 Gen 2 capable and compatible with USB 3.0, 2.0, and USB Type-A.

The My Passport SSD can withstand drops from heights of up to 2 meters. It provides the high quality and reliable performance you expect from Western Digital. The included WD Backup software allows for automatic backup of large files to the SSD or your Dropbox. Just set it up once. It is compatible with Apple Time Machine (requires reformatting). The mobile My Passport SSD is ready to use right out of the box. Whether you want to back up work documents or large media files, just plug it in and get started.
