The RPi Relay Board from Waveshare is an expansion board with 3-channel relays for Raspberry Pi. With the relay board, you can control 12V water valves to implement automatic irrigation. You can also control other loads up to a current of 5A. For safety reasons, we recommend operating the relays at no more than 30V.

Features of the Raspberry Pi Relay HAT:

  • Compatible with Raspberry Pi A+/B+/2B/3B/3B+/3B++/4B/4B+
  • High-quality relays for switching loads up to 5A 250V AC or 5A 30V DC
  • Optocoupler for optimal protection of the Raspberry Pi
  • Onboard LEDs to indicate relay status
  • Jumper for selecting relay control pins, allowing control of relays via custom pins that differ from the standard pins
  • Reserved control interface, enabling operation with controllers such as PLCs
  • Programming examples for wiringPi, bcm2835, and Python
