Product details

The TinyShield USB & ICP adds USB support for the TinyDuino via a micro USB connection and utilizes the very popular FTDI USB to Serial converter IC, as used in most standard Arduino models. With this board, you can upload new sketches to your TinyDuino through the Arduino IDE and add USB communication capabilities to your projects. This board supports RX and TX status LEDs, allowing you to visualize the serial traffic to and from your TinyDuino.

This board also utilizes the DTR line of the FTDI IC to support the automatic reset function when a new sketch is downloaded to the processor – you no longer need to press the reset button to reset your TinyDuino.

A 6-pin In-Circuit Programming (ICP) connector is also available on this board (the header is not included by default), which can be used to program the Atmel microcontroller on the TinyDuino with the help of an external programmer. The size and pinout of this connector conform to the new Atmel standard, and it can be directly connected to newer external programmers such as the Atmel JTAGICE 3.
