Synology DiskStation DS925+

The Synology DS925+ is a 4-bay network storage solution for home office and edge computing environments, expandable to a total of 9 drive bays. This NAS system features integrated dual 2.5GbE network ports and achieves sequential read speeds of up to 522 MB/s and write speeds of up to 565 MB/s. The unit supports both SATA flash drives and HDDs in 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch internal bays and includes two M.2 NVMe slots that can be configured for cache acceleration or storage pools. With four internal bays, the DS925+ offers up to 80 TB of raw storage capacity, expandable to 180 TB in total when combined with the DX525 expansion unit. The system enables a variety of applications including centralized data consolidation, backup management for multiple endpoints, support for up to 40 IP cameras via Surveillance Station, and secure file synchronization across multiple locations. It provides comprehensive data protection through automated backup solutions for PCs, smartphones, virtual machines, and cloud applications, as well as tamper-proof immutable snapshots for critical data backup. The platform enables private cloud functionality with seamless file access from any device via mobile apps, desktop clients, and web interfaces, while supporting real-time document collaboration and multi-site synchronization capabilities. Monitoring features include centralized management of over 8700 IP camera models, dual recording to cloud storage with end-to-end encryption, and remote monitoring functionality. The system also offers centralized fleet management via Synology Central Management System and cloud-based performance monitoring through Active Insight.
