StarTech SATA-to-IDE hard drive adapter. This adapter allows IDE-based 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch hard drives (PATA) to be used in most SATA HDD docking stations. It supports 40-pin (3.5-inch) and 44-pin (2.5-inch) IDE hard drives. The robust metal construction enables support for large drives with 48-bit LBA. The adapter is compatible with SATA version 1.0 and PATA-66/100/133 Mbit/s hard drives (IDE). Mounting holes are provided for IDE hard drives with 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch form factors. The mounting design of the SATA/IDE adapter allows it to be attached to an IDE/ATA hard drive and inserted into a SATA hard drive dock slot. The adapter can also be used to install IDE hard drives on desktop computers that exclusively support SATA.
