SparkFun Proto Pedal

The SparkFun Proto Pedal is an easy-to-assemble kit that simplifies the construction of guitar effect pedals.

Most guitar pedals start with a similar circuit - you need the input and output jacks, the bypass switch, and a barrel jack for power. In some pedals, the wiring of the jacks and switches can be as extensive as that of the effect itself. The SparkFun Proto Pedal takes care of the difficult part and provides you with a simple infrastructure; you just need to decide which simple circuit you want to use for the desired effect, and you can get started!

With the SparkFun Proto Pedal, all the issues of the complex framework of a guitar pedal with true bypass and LED circuitry are resolved; a large, open prototyping area that corresponds to a solderless standard board; a small prototyping area for power regulation or reference voltages; and six positions to help organize the potentiometer wiring. To make your life even easier, we have not only written a complete assembly guide for the Proto Pedal but also two effect circuit guides that utilize the large prototyping area of the board. Each Proto Pedal comes as an easy-to-assemble PTH solder kit, and it's up to you to solder everything together!.
