The Sony Alpha 7 V makes a real leap forward and comes pretty close to the company's own top models, the Alpha 1 II and Alpha 9 III: with excellent autofocus, a very high continuous shooting speed and top image quality in photos and videos. The Nikon Z6 III (body 2,300 euros) is slightly inferior, but significantly cheaper.
Whether image quality, speed or features: all cameras in the test field achieve excellent results and should also meet most professional requirements. The Sony Alpha 7 V, which is ahead in terms of image quality, wins the test. The price tip goes to the Nikon Z6III.
Sony promised to "save the best for last" when inviting guests to the premiere of the Alpha 7 V in December last year. And the Japanese didn't promise too much. The Alpha 7 V undoubtedly sets new standards in the mid-range segment and should even be of interest to professionals. The only fly in the ointment is the steep price. Even though the camera is undoubtedly worth it.
