The V KICK is a dynamic microphone specifically designed for the bass drum or other sources where capturing low frequencies is particularly important, such as bass guitar amplifiers or floor toms. The sound of its bass drum-specialized capsule can be modified using the two switches on the back of the microphone. The capsule of the V KICK offers a sound character tailored for the bass drum, which can be further shaped with the two switches on the back. The left switch shapes the overall sound of the microphone, with two options available: "Classic" provides a more traditional kick drum sound, featuring a typical punch in the low frequencies and a softer tone. In contrast, if a more modern and aggressive sound is desired, the "Modern" setting emphasizes the low and high frequencies. The right switch shapes the character of the microphone in the high frequencies: "Classic" delivers a typically powerful sound in the mids and a softer sound in the highs, while "Modern" offers a more open, clearer, and transient-rich sound in the highs for a more contemporary and aggressive drum sound. Each of these switches is directly embedded into the microphone housing and requires a small flat screwdriver or similar tool to adjust. The V KICK also features a joint that allows it to be easily positioned inside or outside the bass drum. Its low profile makes it easy to attach at the speaker hole, and the XLR cable and the rod run parallel to each other to avoid cable clutter. Remember to tighten the rod securely during setup to prevent the microphone from falling out during a live performance or recording.
