The new Samsung Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic are Samsung's first round smartwatches. The 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display on both new watches has a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels, and under the hood, there is a 1 GHz dual-core processor. Additionally, the watch connects to the paired smartphone via Bluetooth 4.1, but it can also connect directly to the internet via Wi-Fi. The watch also features an accelerometer, a heart rate sensor, and a barometer.
A true advancement in the operation and navigation of these compact wearables is the round rotating bezel around the display, which allows the new smartwatch to be operated in addition to the touch display.

Samsung tritt mit der Gear S2 den Versuch an einiges besser zu machen als die Konkurrenz, teilweise ist dies durchaus auch gelungen. Das Modell gibt es in zwei Varianten, richtig große Schwächen leisten sich beide nicht. Einzig die Software lief anfangs noch nicht so flüssig wie erhofft...
