Like the Z Fold 4, the Mate Xs 2 is a dream for anyone who wants to carry an XXL display with them at all times. It is thinner than the Samsung and has a larger screen. The performance is right, the camera is excellent. But Huawei loses on other points: the folding display is not protected enough without an extra cover - it scratches very easily...
- Very good camera
- long battery life
- closed thick and heavy
Meanwhile, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 plays its trump card twice: It drives the Fold mightily and has plenty of power, but does not strain the battery as much as feared. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 easily lasts a day of intensive use and often manages a second - even if you use the large display a lot.
- Flexible use of the main camera
- Weak selfies from the 4 MP under-display camera
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 has a trick up its sleeve: thanks to the folding mechanism, selfies can also be taken with the powerful main camera - with correspondingly impressive results. Only the Pixel 6a did better here. The powerful foldable phone with a test score of 1.7 is a workhorse. The brand-new successor (test on page 80) did not make it into this comparison in time.
- Greatly improved camera
- Display quality
- Optimised battery performance
- Power
- Mobile phone and tablet in one device
- Selfie cameras

- Good workmanship
- Operating system top
- Display top
- Fold still visible
- A little chunky
- Selfie cam a little weak inside
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 has improved in many ways - it is definitely a device you should consider buying if, for example, you are regularly on the road for longer periods and don't want to buy a tablet separately. It is also worth it for short notes or more productive, smaller work. However, the price is still hefty.
