Roline Fiber optic cable

The OM4 fiber is a 50 µm optimized fiber with extended bandwidth. It is used to improve system performance for existing 1 and 10 Gb/sec applications and future 40 and 100 Gb/sec applications.
The OM4 fiber supports Ethernet, Fibre Channel and OIF applications, for longer distances of over 550m at 10 Gb/s and for extremely long building and campus backbones of medium length. With an effective Modal Bandwidth (EMB, also called Laser Bandwidth) of 4700 MHz km (more than twice the IEEE requirement for 10 Gb/s with 300 meter support), the OM4 fiber is also particularly well suited for shorter ranges in data centers, as well as for high performance computing applications.
When used at low data rates such as 100 Mb/s or 1Gb/s, OM4 is the same as OM2 or OM3 fibers. The OM4 fiber shows its true strengths at data rates of 10 Gb/s and 40 Gb/s with ranges of 550m and 300m respectively.
