The HO740 is an IEEE-488.2 (GPIB) interface that enables the integration of HAMEG combi-oscilloscopes into automated test systems. The interface features an IEEE-488 socket into which an IEEE-488 connection cable can be plugged. This cable establishes the connection to an IEEE-488 controller (the control unit of an IEEE-488 bus system). A PC equipped with an appropriate plug-in card can serve as the IEEE-488 controller. If an IEC-625 cable is to be used, a suitable plug adapter is required. The HO740 operates in "Device" mode, meaning it receives commands from the controller, passes them to the oscilloscope, and may send signal data back to the controller. Data transmission occurs bidirectionally in parallel form.
