The recording quality is incredibly good. I have a Rode VideoMic Pro (shotgun), but the H2n easily outshines it. Of course, the application is different.

You can choose between 4 recording modes, different directions and
channels. The 4 channel mode creates a surround sound that is incredibly lifelike. It sounds like real, not like recorded. Especially the depths are very convincing.

On the side there is a dial that controls the sensitivity of the microphone. If you connect headphones and set the sensitivity to maximum, you feel like Superman, you hear things that are otherwise not audible.

The menu is simple and intuitive. The device has a good feel to it. The 2GB microSD is included, but packed into the side in such a way that I almost missed it. Batteries are different than described in the details, not included.

Be sure to buy the right accessories! A distinction is made between power-plug-in-capable and normal mics. Some mics need power - others do not.

The recording device works flawlessly. However, one must know that the correct adapter must be used for the Rode microphones: I had ordered the "RØDE smartLav+ (Mono)" microphone for the recorder and the recording did not work with this external microphone. Reason: The microphone has 4 instead of 3 pins on the plug and therefore no voltage is conducted to the microphone. It is absolutely necessary to have the right accessories or to order an additional stereo-to-mono jack adapter from Conrad. The article states: "Clip-on microphone for smartphones - the "SC3" adapter can be used for use on a camera or audio recorder."

    Pro

    • You can select the recording formats WAV and MP3: I.e. you do not have to format afterwards.
    • Recording device can be connected with loop or a tripod

    Contra

    • The manufacturer does not indicate which mics fit
    • Unclear battery life

Also suitable for bird call recordings.

I bought the device to record bird calls. The result is convincing. I would buy the device again.

In principle, quite good, provided that you always leave the SD card inserted!

The mechanism for the SD card does not seem to be very good....once briefly tried to insert the card upside down and already broken. Mind you you did not have to press very hard to make the whole thing inoperable!

I was under pressure to deliver an important recording on time. I quickly got to grips with the operation - the quality of the recording was perfect. Especially for dubbing digital slideshows, I found an ideal device!
    I
also found the batteries and the microSD purely by chance. By the way: normal SDHC also work.

It would be practical if the very useful accessories were also supplied with the device.
