  Excellent alternative to the G-Master, but no substitute for professionals

  Pro

  • Optical quality (sharpness, bokeh, colouring)
  • Compact (small, handy, light)
  • Attractive design, matching the other Tamron FE lenses
  • The missing 20 mm are hardly noticeable
  • Shares filter size with the other Tamron FE lenses

  Contra

  • Lack of image stabiliser (there is slight camera shake even at 1/250 on my A9).
  • Rubber of the zoom ring susceptible to dirt
  • On my specimen there is 1 speck of dust behind the front lens

  Compact lens with good image quality

  Pro

  • - Compact and light
  • - Very good image quality (especially with a camera with an APS sensor.
  • - Lens ring easily and evenly adjustable
  • - Very reasonably priced

  Contra

  • - Focal length only up to 180 instead of 200 mm as with other such lenses (difference but small)
