Chices design and appealing technical data. Especially I like the power supply only through the USB port. Thus, the device is quickly built or put aside again. Unfortunately, it does not have a fixed place with me. The scans are excellent, the driver also meets my expectations. All settings that are important for me can be easily controlled. What surprises me, compared to my old scanner HP Scanjet 2400, is that the scanning speed, despite USB3.0 remains below my expectations. My multifunction printer and copier is much faster, but the image quality is not as sharp. By the way, I usually scan at 300 dpi, which means I don't have large amounts of data.
Conclusion: Solid, good device, but - for 300 dpi - it should be faster...

Already my second device of the same model. The first I thought I had a Monday model got but the hardware error is one of them: There are vertical stripes visible in all pictures which look as if the picture was composed of several stripes. In the pictures uploaded here you can see that in each case between the two pink guides I used.
When I researched this on the second device, I then found someone reporting the same thing (and being far more forgiving of Canon than I would be). Here is the link: https://www.parkablogs.com/picture...
Also miserable is the included "software" - intentionally in quotes. Buying VueScan or using Digital Images on your Mac is essential to even be able to select more than 600dpi resolution.

Scans reliably, usable under Linux, scans somewhat obliquely which could be corrected by the software on other operating systems, good optics.

Actually almost everything is great. Only that the scanner after each document loses the connection is quite annoying and takes time to reconnect.

I have the scanner in use on Mac OS Big Sur 11.1 as well as Windows 10.
On both operating systems, installation was very easy using the link in the manual. On both operating systems the 5 buttons on the front work, making scanning very quick and easy.
The scanner is fast enough in my opinion. At 600dpi it is also very quiet. At 300dpi it is a bit noisy.
The lid is a bit too light and rickety in design in my opinion.
All in all, for the price, a very good scanner that works for me for occasional use without any problems.
