AVM FRITZ!Fon C6
AVM FRITZ!Fon C6
Actually, I am used to AVM's hardware innovations always bringing massive improvements. Unfortunately, this is not the case in the telephone sector. I have been through every generation up to now, for years, but have been stuck with C4. I use 6 DECT telephones from AVM at home. Ingenious, there is nothing to complain about in terms of technology. With the FW updates, the old "crackling noises" are finally history.
All AVM telephones to date have had one major disadvantage: over time (approx. after 12 months) the battery swells, has to be replaced or else the back cover can no longer be closed or even pops off. This should not be allowed to happen, even though we know that a Li-Ion battery does not like to be constantly charged.
Now I bought the new C6 as a replacement for a C4 - it had to be white, which is now possible with the C6 compared to the C5. The disappointment is great, therefore only two stars. Reason: the loading recess is very small (see photo). The phone can no longer be slid into the charging tray so easily - it often tips over to the front. The charging tray is also fixed to the cable. It is no longer possible to thread the cable through a small hole in the wall frame. The phone is slightly larger (especially the buttons) and the battery seems a bit bigger.
Conclusion: An upgrade from C4 to C6 is not worth it. For me, a disappointment to the developer team of AVM. Too bad!!

I already have a FritzFon C4 in operation, which after 5 years of - sometimes reckless - use has been prone to faults for some time (in some cases buttons no longer work as they should). Therefore, I have now bought the C6 as a successor device. The old C4 will remain as a backup or second handset.
Messages on the answering machine as well as the call list can be called up directly at the touch of a button - the messages are played via the loudspeaker. It is also possible to pick up the phone while someone is leaving an answer on the answering machine.
Good smarthome functions that can be controlled directly via the device. However, a FritzBox is absolutely necessary for this.
It's a pity that the charging station no longer has the same dimensions as the FritzFon C4.

Functions can only be used via Fritz Box. Unusable for Swisscom customers with a Swisscom router! This should be clearly pointed out!
I installed the Fritz!Fon C6 via the FB, it practically runs by itself, the phone is easy to use, has a clear tone and if you have stored your TB in the FB, you also have your contacts in the phone with just a few clicks in the FB. The phone has been in use for about three months now and I am still satisfied with it.
The Fritz!Fon works perfectly. In combination with the Fritz!Box, heating control and various other samrte functions are also available.

I bought the C6 because I read on other platforms that it works with Swisscom.
BUT making and receiving calls is the only thing that works. Without an additional FritzBox, you can't even create a phone book!!! Nothing.
I find the phone itself nicely finished, nicer in design than the Gigasets. The quality of the display is good. Text is easy to read, colours are rich. The feel of the keys is also pleasant. The phone also feels good in the hand. Ringtones like all landline phones....
