This is definitely the new G2 version: Tamron AF 28-75 mm f2.8 Di III VXD G2 I wouldn't buy the old version and then as a grey import.

This is probably not the case with any extending lens. The inner tube extends, which then also carries the filter. No problem with polarising filters
This switch does not exist. https://www.photoscala.de/2018/06/25/ausprobiert-tamron-28-75-f-2-8-di-iii-rxd-fuer-sony-e/ Presumably it is AF/MF at the same time, which means you can always turn the focus ring when you switch the camera to MF, or simply select AF lock and then correct the focus.

I bought mine at the end of December 2019, it already had the latest firmware.

AF is super fast, even with older cameras (I have an A7II). Face AF works if your camera can do it and the rest is up to the settings you make on the body.
