If you have Bluetooth problems, you should go to an official Apple service centre or, for example, Dataquest and have the device tested there. Basically, these headphones should work with all Bluetooth-enabled devices.
Yes, the headphones can continue to be used in so-called 'passive mode' even if the battery is flat, but without the NoiseGard function. For details, see the operating instructions on page 39 (under 'Using the audio cable'). -> https://static.digitecgalaxus.ch/Files/6/4/8/4/9/1/2/PXC550_IM_DE.pdf
That does seem odd. Mine holds a charge just fine. Should I activate the warranty? Or check the usb charging cable too...?
Maybe you can try this online shop? Unfortunately I have no experience but for this price it is worth a try I think: https://www.fruugoschweiz.com/2pcs-fur-sennheiser-pxc-550-ohrpolster-kopfhorer-ohrpolster-fur-sennheiser-pxc550-ohrpolster-kopfhorer-ohrpolster-kissen-ohrenschutzer-abdeckung/p-95066110-199418898?language=de&ac=ProductCasterAPI&asc=pmax&gclid=CjwKCAiApvebBhAvEiwAe7mHSPhjPMluNxt17H2iTICcTNUuaSqTmDJ8t_trOub5aZRyy72ibsecfxoCHQgQAvD_BwE
I have had this product for 2 years. These headphones are simply amazingly comfortable to wear.
Yes, the battery can be changed but it requires skill and some expertise. It is better if the battery is changed by a Sennheiser Service Centre.
I can't find an IP classification. According to manufacturer's instructions: "Always keep the product dry and do not expose it to extremely low or extremely high temperatures (hairdryer, heating, prolonged exposure to sunlight, etc.) to avoid corrosion or deformation." Source: https://assets.sennheiser.com/global-downloads/file/7004/SafetyGuide_PXC550_1218_INT.pdf Conclusion: No, the headphones are definitely not protected against water. "Always dry" -> not recommended for wearing in the rain (no matter how much/heavy it rains).
I use the Bluetooth dongle BTD800 from Sennheiser. With this, Bluetooth is automatically switched off as soon as the headphones are connected with a cable and switched on again when the cable is removed.
Hi Ac_Hauser, I've owned PXC 550 for about 2 years now and can only recommend it even for mixed music tastes (pop, rock, techno, classical). The effects modes are very helpful here with the setting "Club" or also for AudioBooks "reading".
According to the Sennheiser homepage (https://de-ch.sennheiser.com/pxc-550-ii), this is now the successor model. I own the "old" one and am extremely satisfied with it. I would buy it again immediately, at the price of 199.-- anyway.
No, unfortunately these headphones are not really suitable for that. I have the feeling that when there is no signal (music, film,...), the noise-cancelling function is not very effective. In any case, not better than simple earplugs from the supermarket for 50 centimes.
So the control panel is only on the right, but both sides of the headphones should pass the environment. If there is really only noise, I would file a warranty claim.
No, not in my opinion. I own the PXC 550 and I wouldn't know that it has features like the hybrid adaptive Sennheiser NoiseGard™ ANC technology, SpeakFocus, Own Voice Detector, Windsafe or Room Experience.
Battery dead? Have you tried charging it?
It seems to work. An aeroplane adapter is included, the product has a 3.5 mm jack plug.
In my view, the headphones are not built for sports use. They are too big and too bulky for sports. I cannot judge whether the headphones are immune to sweat. But I think not.
The Wohlen showroom features items from the Galaxus and digitec ranges. As it is not a pure digitec showroom, there are fewer digitec products on display. You'll just have to go to another showroom...
Addendum: I have Hi-Res Music on the player, and tracks encoded with 24bit / 96kHz are transferred to the Sennheiser PXC 550. Tracks with 24bit and 192kHz are no longer transferred. However, I cannot say whether the player uses any downsampling during Bluetooth transmission. However, the quality is beyond reproach. I've never had wireless headphones that sounded as good as the PXC 550 ... I can imagine that for bumbum freaks with impaired hearing, the maximum volume might not be sufficient.
I have had practically no problems so far. And when I have, restarting the device has always helped.
