Battery life should only be noticeably better with the large version. Otherwise - no joke - the only new features are an artificial ticking noise and ATM5 water resistance. If you have a Gear S3, I don't think the update is worth it. It's a pity, because Samsung had 2 years for this successor...

As far as I know, there are no differences, which would only apply to the LTE version of the watch (which is not the issue here). I can only imagine that Digitec might offer an import version here, which might not include a German-language instruction manual or something. With such a price difference, I would opt for the NON-CH, because in the end you get the same product with the same warranty conditions.

Yes, you don't need a smartphone or an internet connection to use it at the checkout. You can really only pay with the watch. A smartphone is needed for installation and credit card management. However, it can also be from a non-Samsung brand. However, the Gear app must be installed. The credit cards are managed there. The watch stores about 10 tokens for offline payments. This means that after about 10 transactions at the latest (without a smartphone connection) at the checkout, you should go near your smartphone again so that it can synchronise and load new tokens for new payment transactions.

Is this watch sim card suitable (LTE)?

As far as I know, the watch is available with and without an LTE chip. The big advantage of the Galaxy Watch over the new Galaxy Watch 3 is the significantly longer battery life. I am very satisfied. Samsung Pay in times of Corona is also great ;)

With the Samsung Galaxy Watch, it works to download the playlists for offline use via the Spotify app integrated on the watch. I have the Wi-Fi version. This should also be possible with the other and more recent Samsung watches.

Is the watch the LTE version?

No, this is not the variant for e-SIM. As far as I know, the e-SIM variant is not sold in Switzerland at all. You need providers who support it. I also wanted the e-SIM version at first, but I changed my mind because I always have my mobile phone with me anyway and the watch is always paired with the mobile phone.

The difference applies to the security standards of certain features, such as contactless payments. As the standards regulating this kind of payment system vary from one country to another, several versions must be made in order for these features to work properly. For example, a US version of the watch will not work on contactless payments in Europe because the security standards will not be the same.

I would also be happy about that. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. In Switzerland, unfortunately, only Samsung Pay with a tiny and exotic number of supported credit cards...

Hi. I can highly recommend the app Lifesum. I use it with the Galaxy Watch to track weight, exercise and calories. Samsung Health and Withings can be merged in this app. Love it. Let me know how you find it...good luck https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sillens.shapeupclub

I have the Galaxy Watch and can only recommend it. It's really good and I've already had all the alternatives. The price/performance ratio is also great at the moment. A successor to the Galaxy S11 (S20) will most likely be introduced in February...

Also had problems with the connection since the last update. I would try the following 2 methods (the latter has eliminated all problems for me). To be on the safe side, make a backup of the watch beforehand. 1. un-pair the watch in the Bluetooth settings, restart the smartphone and watch, pair again. If this does not help: 2. create a backup in the Wear app and then reset the watch. Unpair the watch in the Bluetooth settings. Restart the smartphone and reconnect the watch. Hope it helps.

Is this a good model for sport?

I've had it for a few days and I'm delighted with it. It offers a multitude of sports programs, and automatically detects when you are walking, running, swimming (not all sports but 4 or 5 I think). It's also pretty! And the battery lasts about 2 days and a half (without the "always-on display" otherwise it is reduced to 1 day, 1 day and a half). Honestly, go for it with your eyes closed!
