I have a similar configuration (MacBook Pro 16" 2019) and for me it worked flawlessly, first time. For USB-C, I also need the supplied (rather stiff) cable. My partner has an older MacBook, and needs the HDMI input, also without problems. It switches automatically between the two. ?? Sorry I don't have any useful advice. Excellent picture quality, by the way... :-/
Unfortunately, the USB-C charging function does not work with all notebooks. I have a Dell 5530 with Thunderbolt 3, and the charging function works there. The other laptops, a Fujitsu u749 with USB-C and an HP Elitebook with USB-C cannot be charged with the 279P. Both require less than 65W, but it's not the fault. I have another monitor with integrated USB-C charging function (Fujitsu P27-9 TS QHD) where both notebooks can be charged without any problems. It is clear that the USB-C USB PD version 3.0 is somehow not compatible with the devices mentioned. But why doesn't Philips make it possible to charge standard laptops like the Fujitsu P27-9 TS QHD?
I am very interested in this screen. Especially because it is relatively small for 4K and has an integrated dock including charging function. Now I read here that exactly this dock does not always work well. I have a MacBook privately and an HP from the shop. And here there is very contradictory information, once the MacBook works, once it doesn't...
- Does anyone have any experience, what is the reason?
- If it doesn't work, is that a warranty case or can I send the product back?
- Are there any alternatives to this screen?
