LaCie Mobile Drive - Moon Silver
4 TB
I also have a MacBook Pro 2020 and have never had any problems. LaCie Mobile Drive - Moon Silver (5 TB) is always recognised and I have been doing my TM backups on it for maybe 1 year. It is connected to the MacBook via USB-C.
Hello The hard drive has a USB-C (form) connector and USB 3.0 (USB technology). Your Mac Book Pro 15" late 11 has USB-A (2 pieces, I think on the left side) with USB 2.0. With the appropriate USB-A to USB-C cable, this should work. https://www.digitec.ch/search?q=usb%20a%20usb%20c%20kabel Hope that helps LG
Good day Question, how long is the connection cable and can I also get it in white? FG, Urs Messerli
Hello Urs Messerli. The cable is only about 20 cm. It comes with two cables: one USB A to C and one USB C to C. There are many cables you can buy if the ones included don't fit. Just make sure that they are also USB 3 compatible. There are also USB-C charging cables that only support USB 2.0.
The unit I received came with one USB C cable.
The HD has a USB-C connection. Two cables are supplied: USB-C to USB-C. And USB-C to USB 3.0

Yes, runs smoothly on my Mac with OS Catalina. Great hard drive.
Hello Marc I tried the LaCie Mobile Drive (5TB) on my old laptop, which also only has USB 2.0, the HD works perfectly. According to the device manager, my laptop has 500mA available per USB port. Greetings Patrick
The drive is operating system independent for Mac and Windows. If you format it with NTFS, it works fine with Windows 7. Most NAS devices work with Linux and store Windows data without any problems.
I found out: At https://www.lacie.com/ch/de/products/mobile-drive/ you can see small product images. A different case is used for 1TB and 2TB than for 4TB and 5TB.
I think it's about the 5TB storage capacity. It's probably a mistake in the translation, as it's obviously translated from (5To) (terra octet, from French). But I don't know why the English Digitec website uses the French product title, the employees at Digitec will have to sort that out themselves, I'm on holiday for the time being...
Yes, it also works with the IPad Pro 2018. Greetings
The thing is a hard disk, not an SSD. Accordingly, the transfer speeds are not excessively high.
Unfortunately, this is not yet known to us, please excuse :(
