Hello, use this dock. If you plug the charging cable (USB Type C) into the dock and the dock into a USB Type C suitable for charging on the Lenovo X1, it works fine.
Hello Tanja,
The docking station does not come with a charging cable. You have to use the one from your laptop (USB-C) or buy a second charging cable. However, you can also use the docking station without a charging cable as an extension of the connections.
Greetings
Roberto
Hello, yes the ICY Box can be used on the Surface Pro 7. Both devices support, for example, USB-C DP Alt Mode for connecting up to two external monitors. As well as charging the Surface 7 Pro via USB-C. And much more...
Yes, but with a restriction.
It is only possible via VGA & MiniDP or HDMI & MiniDP simultaneously.
Also note that the monitors are only recognised on a Thunderbolt 3 port, on a USB port only the data ports are recognised.
Hello
I also have this adapter. Simply connect the charger from the notebook to the ICY box. The power supply of the notebook then works via the USB-C cable.
LG Markus
I use the above ICY BOX via the USB-C port on my ACER Chromebook, and also successfully on my HP Elitebook 840 G5 (Windows 10). Charging, LAN, second monitor :-) So it should work.
Since I own a MacBook Pro, I can unfortunately only say about the potential from this model. The transmission to the TV is very good and the sharpness is convincing. But if it's just to take an HDMI adapter and you don't need more, then the Ich Box is too much. I need it above all for several connections, including SD Card, and I am very satisfied.
Hello X...
Yes, that was possible for me.
However, I had connected a mini HDMI output to the notebook. Asus supplied an adapter for this, to which I connected the old Samsung 3D TV on a trial basis. A Samsung 4K monitor was connected to this product via HDMI. I could only use one of the two integrated graphics units for this (the one from Intel and not the one from Nvidia). However, since I didn't really need this setting, I left it alone.
I hope this answer helps.
I'm using it on a MacBook Air with Thunderbolt 3. I have the Apple power supply on the dock and the power is passed through for charging.
The speed of the ports is, of course, "limited" to USB-C, but that doesn't bother me. It was more important to me that I could connect several screens at a reasonable price and LAN via RJ45.
I bought the dock for a MacBook Air (Intel processor). The first device had a loose contact, but then all the connections - from time to time - did not work, was replaced for me by Digitec without any problems. I then tested the replacement device with the MacBook Air and my MacBook Pro (14', 2021) and it worked perfectly. After your message, I connected it again today to the MachBook Pro and it worked perfectly again - but after restarting the computer, the Ethernet, HDMI and MiniDP no longer worked, as they did for you. I can't test the MacBook Air at the moment.
But what this means is that the dock is not usable for Apple M1 users.
Hello Together
I have a Lenovo X1 Yoga laptop with a 65W power adapter. My goal for the home office would be to connect one or two monitors (HDMI) up to 4K and a webcam (USB) to my laptop via a docking station. The cable should also charge my laptop at the same time.
Is this docking station suitable for this? I'm looking for an alternative to the Targus docking stations, which are certainly good but super expensive. I am open to suggestions for a cheap alternative.
Thank you very much in advance!
In your case, the docking station only supports 1 display at a time.
Take a look at the operating instructions:
https://raidsonic.de/products/adapter_multidocking/multi_docking/IB-DK2102-C/manual_IB-2102-C_web.pdf
Number of displays Video output configuration Maximum resolution/monitor
2 mini DisplayPort™ and HDMI® 1920x1080@60Hz
2 mini DisplayPort™ and VGA 1920x1080p@60 Hz
1 mini DisplayPort™ 3840x2160p@30 Hz
1 HDMI® 3840x2160p@30 Hz
1 VGA 1920x1200p@60 Hz
To use the full potential of the docking station, the laptop must support "Display Port Alt-Mode (DP-Alt)".
Mine does not, so I can only use an additional monitor (mini DisplayPort™ or HDMI). You're always smarter in hindsight.
I recently ordered the product and tested it today. The first impression was very good. Unfortunately, a big problem has arisen for me. I can't connect my UHD screen from ASUS to my Macbook.
I have the following screen:
ASUS VP28UQGL (28", 3840 x 2160 Pixels).
https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/asus-vp28uqgl-28-3840-x-2160-pixels-monitor-11905415
And the following Macbook:
APPLE MacBook Pro Touch Bar 2019 (16", Intel Core i9, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD)
https://www.microspot.ch/de/--c511000/apple-macbook-pro-touch-bar-2019-16-intel-core-i9-32-gb-ram-1-tb-ssd--p0002004848
When I connect the HDMI cable to the dock and to my monitor, I always get the same message that no signal is being received. Surely HDMI should be supported on a UHD monitor? Do I have to install a driver for this?
Unfortunately, I am completely desperate at the moment and am therefore in urgent need of help. Ultimately, I want to use the Macbook for video editing.
Thank you very much for an informative answer and best regards!
Have you tested the docking station yourself? Are you sure 60Hz doesn't work with 4k? Neither on HDMI nor Displayport? According to the description on the manufacturer's website, it should support up to 60Hz. I am also looking for one that supports 60Hz for my Lenovo C940 4k. It also has USB-C Thunderbolt 3.0 ports. But if 60Hz is not possible, then this box is really nothing. I currently have a USB-C to HDMI adapter from Samsung, with which 4K at 60Hz works perfectly. Thank you and greetings Simon
Hello
I bought your Icy Box Type C Docking Station IB-DK2102-C for my MacBook Pro 13 inch Mid 2019.
Now I would like to connect 2 external screens as follows:
- 1 x Monitor via HDMI to Docking Station
- 1x monitor via HDMI to Adapter Mini Displayport or Thunderbolt 2 to Docking Station
I would like to have 2 external and separately controllable and individual screens (not duplicate).
Now it shows me the display via Thunderbolt adapter only as a mirrored version and with errors (pink line through the image).
What can I do?
Many thanks in advance for your feedback!
