After 1.5 hours of installation, I finally managed it. I put the device into operation on my MacBook Pro (Big Sur 11.2) and advise against it. To install the driver, you first have to deactivate the system integrity protection (SIP) and activate the developer mode. So it's not really great from a security point of view! I searched for alternatives here on Digitec, but most of them have this chip from Asix installed. The driver is also offered as a beta driver. Can anyone recommend a better product without having to take a security risk and deactivate various tools in the terminal?

Given is the most recent open preliminary rendition of Mojave or the present designer beta. For establishment, a USB stay with something like 16 GB of storage room is required. I have a Mac version 10.13.1. and would like this to connect to a stable internet. Can I just plug this and it works? Or is this more complicated than that...?

Hello, Unfortunately, Apple removed drivers for ASIX chipset from macOS, so now you have manually install drivers and then you have to enable this driver in the Security&Privacy tab. But for example, this adapter is plug&play: i-tec USB 3.0 Metal GLAN Adapter (Ethernet / Lan, 6.10cm) It uses Realtek chipset and drivers are part of macOS. Best regards i-tec Team
