Yes and Yes. In the BIOS, however, the corresponding RAM profile must be selected so that it clocks at 3200MHz, otherwise it only clocks at 2133MHz.

If you have 2 slots, you can also use 2, in your case it is best to use 2 identical RAM sticks if possible. Modern mainboards usually support at least 64GB RAM (1x64GB, 2x32GB or 4x16GB possible), older mainboards sometimes only officially support 32GB, but you will not be affected by this. If you are unsure, you can always check the manual or online to see how much RAM your mainboard officially supports. Whether 2 or 4 slots is only relevant if you actually need the amount of memory (depending on the manufacturer and mainboard type, 64GB+), for most of the time 16GB is already enough, 32GB is future-proof for a few years. A 60% load with 16GB RAM is just under 10GB, of which Windows already needs 3-4GB for standard operation. As long as you don't upgrade your other components or use RAM-hungry applications, you are already well off with your 16GB :)

Hello Turbo_Cactus I did a little research and found the following: - 8 x DDR4 DIMM sockets supporting up to 256 GB (32 GB single DIMM capacity) of system memory. - Support for DDR4 3600(O.C.) So up to this point it should work. However, the manufacturer of the mainboard still gives the following hint: (Please refer to "Memory Support List" for more information.) - https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Memory/mb_memory_trx40-aorus-xtreme_200304.pdf Unfortunately, I can't find the manufacturer's number of the memory on this compatibility list: HX436C18FB3K4/128 I have also installed RAM bars that were not declared on such a compatibility list. Sometimes it worked, sometimes unfortunately not. Unfortunately, there is no 100% guarantee that it will work. Maybe someone else will come up with the perfect answer :) Kind regards

If you have not already done so, you can adjust the RAM frequency in the UEFI (BIOS). Depending on the motherboard, press ESC, del or one of the function keys (F1, F2, F10, etc.) during start-up until you reach the setup mode.

Helpful answer

Here is the answer from our product department: Unfortunately, we do not have any confirmed cases of the scenario requested by the customer, even on sites/forums/communities there is not much information present, as this amount of RAM is often used in scenarios with AMD threadripper processors. Generally speaking, this should work as the ASRock x570m Pro 4 motherboard is declared for maximum support of up to 128 GB of 4*32 GB RAM. According to CL timings are similar as some other HyperX kits that are listed to be compatible by Asrock like: HyperX Fury (4x, 8GB, DDR4-3200, DIMM 288) We're sorry we can't help you further. We leave the question open to other customers :)

There are two possibilities: The first option is to check if the XMP profiles of your memory are enabled, to allow your DIMMs to run at their maximum frequency. The second is that you may have ordered/received the wrong memory sticks.
